Filmfest announces“Visual Arts" jury

The 6th edition of the Green film festival has announced the jury of the official competition of ‘Visual Arts’ section.

Afshin Bakhtyar, Mahdieh Jafari, Ali Jahanshahi, Behrad Javanbakht, Hoda Hadadi, Saeid Ravanbaksh and Fatemeh Shafiee are the jury members in the ‘Visual Arts’ competition, to choose the winners from among more than 2,000 works from around the globe.

Artists from Iran, China, the US, Mexico, Turkey, Italy, Germany, Poland, South Korea, Russia, Ecuador and dozens of other countries have submitted their works to the festival.

This edition of the festival will draw attention to sustainable tourism in accordance with UN World Tourism Organization that has named 2017 as the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development.

The secretary of the festival, Farhad Tohidi, earlier in February said the event will put spotlight on movies that promote green economy.

As Iran’s sole environmental event on motion pictures, the festival regards other media on its sidelines as well.

The event has taken topics such as clean energy and sustainable cities into consideration in selecting movies.

The 6th edition of the International Green Film Festival is slated for September 9-15, 2017 to be held in Tehran and some other Iranian cities.
